The Chinese striped-neck turtle, scientifically known as Mauremys sinensis, is a semi-aquatic turtle native to various regions in Asia, including China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and parts of Thailand. It is also commonly known as the Chinese three-striped box turtle, the golden thread turtle, or the Chinese golden thread turtle.
They are omnivorous, feeding on a diet that includes aquatic plants, insects, crustaceans, small fish, and occasionally carrion. In the wild, Chinese striped-neck turtles can live for several decades, often exceeding 30 years of age.
